Somewhere in the South Pacific...

Representatives of Team BoldWater -- Sean Bloomfield, Lisa McClellan and Robert Beadell -- have been traveling through the South Pacific since March, 2003.

hideaway island reef - by lisaSo far, they've caught hundreds of trophy rainbow and brown trout in the clear mountain waters of New Zealand, dove the reefs and explored the tribal jungles of Vanuatu, wrestled huge snapper from the reefs offshore Auckland, and much more.

Their mission is three-fold: to collect footage for their soon-to-be released documentary video "South Pacific Outdoor Adventures"; to capture still photographs and write articles about the regions they visit; and, most importantly, to live life to its fullest potential!

Furthermore, they're taking BoldWater to new frontiers of the marine world. So far, the fishing guides, captains, dive masters and many others have enthusiastically welcomed the BW South Pacific crew throughout their travels. This "Southern Hospitality" highlights the friendliness of this region, not to mention the GLOBAL BOND shared by marine enthusiasts all over the world.

Stay tuned to this page for updates from the BW South Pacific crew, and to keep posted on the upcoming video "South Pacific Outdoor Adventures!"

SOUTH PACIFIC DIARY

09-24-2003

Greetings from springtime! With the seasons here reversed from what you guys are experiencing in the Northern Hemisphere, we just got done with wintertime. And living at the bottom of New Zealand's South Island, in a ski town called Wanaka, we are really not gonna miss the winter!

Fishing has been good here lately, with a lot of brown trout rising on the mountain rivers. Snowboarding has been a blast, and you can't beat hiking and camping (tramping as they call it here) in the nearby mountains. New Zealand really is an outdoors paradise.

We're having withdrawals, however, from the trout fishing in the Tongariro River, near Lake Taupo in the North Island. We fished there for a week recently and landed over a hundred monster trout on fly rods! Gotta go back some day... but at least we have all the video footage to remember it by!

Heading to Queensland, Australia from October 18 to November 6. That's where the Great Barrier Reef is! Can't wait to jump in the water with SCUBA gear.

We also hope to sample some Queensland fishing... Barramundi are an awesome sportfish... kind of a cross between tripletail and snook. Just like snook, they lurk in the mangroves and blast topwater lures. Hope to do some other estuary and reef fishing while we're there in order to gather tons of great footage for our video.

Take care and tight lines!

Sean
